I can't say enough how much I HATE textured wallpaper. It was foam, and so hard to remove. It took me a full week solid working every day for an hour just to get the foam down, and then afterwards I had to remove the glue.

There was a layer of paper below this one, a country floral. It was hung write ontop the drywall without the walls being sealed or primed!!! I paintd over this layer, rather than wrestle with damaging the drywall as I went.

I removed the vanity doors and puttied all those weird crevices in the doors and drawer. Then, I bought some wood appliqués and glued them on, and finally painted it white. We also added glass door knobs which you can't see here.
The vase came from a yard sale from two weeks back- the home owner was an interior designer and was redecorating her home. Most of her things were overpriced, but this vase and its matching vessel on the back of the toilet were 4 dollars each.
You've seen the shoe and the birdie- here is where their home is. They both came from kirklands.

A Waverly shower curtain from Target that needs ironed. But hey- I don't iron! And here are some of the pictures I hung in the room.
Not the most impressive makeover, because all of these guest baths are teensy and hard to work with- but, I am very happy with the outcome and pleased with how much nicer the room looks.
And now the baby pictures!

This is the two of them watching t.v. ACK! They only get a half hour of Mickey Mouse in the morning, and a half an hour of Mickey Mouse in the evening, but its like CRACK. I try to give them their bottles to drink while they watch, but as soon as they finish, they crawl over to the edge of the playpin and climb up and stand and stare at the t.v. *gasp*

Here is my baby boy being silly. He is normally so serious for the camera, its always fun when he decides to be a goofball. He is in 12 months clothing now, even though he is still a skinny boy, he is long!

Tilly just gets prettier and prettier. I suppose Duane will have to stop calling her "Chris Farley" and saying "I live in a van down by the river!!!" when he holds her as she no longer has those fat baby cheeks. Every one has been telling us lately how pretty she is, and it takes me off guard, because for the longest time she really was so pudgey and her very square jaw made it hard to see what WE saw. They used to just say "My shes a big baby!" Heh. Of course we always thought she was beautiful! She looks so much like her father, taking in his Puerto Rican ancestory.
Grandma watched them Saturday so we could go to a friends wedding and reception dinner. This is AWFUL but it was our first baby free evening since the big twins were born, and we skipped the wedding!!! We went on a "Date" instead. We went to Starbucks and had coffees and sodas and just sat and talked and caught up with eachother. We held hands and whispered. Then, we went to the reception where we danced with one another, too. *sighs* And when we came home, Grandma had folded all the laundry!!! Duane was rushing behind me saying "What are you doing?" because at 15 till 4, and knowing grandma would be here by 5, I was doing laundry instead of getting ready. I said "Its a game we play. I leave laundry in the washer and the dryer, she finishes both, then folds it. Don't argue!" I really appreciate it. This used to make me feel inferior and embarrassed that I had laundry that needed to be folded, but heck, I AM busy and she enjoys feeling useful and goodness knows we are grateful!
As far as the pregnancy, I feel like crud. On days when the big twins nap well, I sleep. Right now I am waiting for them to nap so I can, but they have been playing in their cribs for 45 minutes instead of sleeping. Ugh. I feel like I am not giving anyone my best... my twins, my husband, myself. I am so rundown right now that even taking a bath feels like a chore because I would rather have the free time to sleep! My iron came back anemic, so thats part of it... but basically this is the point in a twin pregnancy where you really feel huge and awkward and ... uncomfortable! Duane continues to do all he can to take somethings off of me, and I struggle with "bad mommy" guilt.
My ob is scheduling my c-section between 36-37 weeks. This means I only have a little more than 7 weeks left. We are a bit concerned about uterine rupture with my conceiving so quickly after my previous c-section... thats why we are scheduling the slightly premature delivery. We have to get the twins to 36 weeks for lung development, but anything after risks severe complications for me.
*edit- at 36 weeks with twins, my uterus will be the size of a singletons pregnancy at 44 weeks! So, though it sounds awful to be planning a premature delivery, I am relieved. Last time I carried until 35 weeks 2 days, then went into labor on my own. Lucas weighed 4 pounds 12 ounces, and Tilly weighed 4 pounds 14 ounces. They were both 18.5 inches long. There is a chance I will go into labor on my own again... we just would like to make it to 35 weeks before anything like that happens, and hope we can make it to 36 as the babies will come home with us in that situation. 35 weekers require a stay in the "step down" nursery (not NICU) to pack on some ounces before they can go home, 36 weeks do not.

Oh, Lizzie, the twins are so cute! My dil is delivering tomorrow. This is their second little girl and my second grandchild. We're thrilled. Her name is Avery Ann and I've been getting things done around here all day so I can be at the hospital tomorrow.
Oh, the potholders are the little crocheted dresses. Amy sent me one of each color, blue, red & yellow trimmed. It was so fun getting that package today! I love mail!!!!
Take care of yourself and don't work so hard on things, remember you're pregnant. Oh yeah, I don't think you've forgotten that....lol.
hugs,
Marilyn
Lizzie, what a fun post. First, I love what you've done with your bath. The new curtain is beautiful, and I love your yard sale finds (decorator's sales are great!). I had the same problem with the previous owner's paper in the kitchen here...you did the right thing about your walls. Our drywall was damaged and I had to use textured paint. I also have teeny baths....I figure that means less to clean!
Your children are just adorable...both are beautiful babies with so much personality! I'm sorry you're not feeling good, and it sounds like your OB is timing things well for you. I'm also glad that you and DH were able to have a date! :)
Hope that you're feeling better after your nap...
xo,
Andrea
Your twins are just darling! I'm sorry you're feeling yucky (hugs).
You did a great job with that bathroom. I had that exact same wallpaper problem and I used venetian plaster in one bathroom and another wallpaper in the other. The vanity looks pretty with the appliques and your shower curtain is pretty. Good Job!
Take care,
Manuela
Your babies are adorable! They look like happy little ones. I can only imagine how exhausted you must be with each passing day. I really admire all the work you put into that lovely bathroom. The prints, accessories and curtain are so pretty! Take care of yourself these next few weeks.
Hi Lizzy! Wow so many pretty pictures I am not sure which to start with! Your twins are just precious... we all have Mom guilt sometimes and none of us will ever be perfect. My Mom does the same for me with the washer and dryer..isn't it great?
I love your bathroom remodels too... that picture of the little children is gorgeous!!!
I am so committed to praying for you as your due date draws near!! I am so excited for you but feel your pain and discomfort... take it easy... ya right! But you sure are blessed that your little ones are sooo good!!
Ooh, love the bathroom too!
And I really love your idea to put cookbooks in with the aprons in my vintage scale! I have some old vintage, colorful cookbooks too that would look so great! Thanks! You're good!
forgot to say... I hope you feel better and that you get some rest!
Lizzie I laughed sooo hard at your laundry game story my husband thinks I am crazy! You are a very smart gal! There are some really great and guilt free children's programs out there. Little Bear on noggin teaches a lot of lifes little lessons and greatly improves vocabulary. Maisy also on noggin is very bright and perfect of babes that age. Blue's Clues is pretty great too Tori and Belle both love that one, Maggie and Ferocious Beast (Noggin again) and Dragon Tales on PBS. I think most of these are on Noggin. The funny thing about TV in our house is I have not really limited it too much and they actually prefer to do other things, art, play outside, cook things in the kitchen, garden, and educational computer games. I also have not been too strict about sweets and if you offer my kids a cookie or an apple they will usually take the apple first hehe. It is probably dumb luck on both counts, but I think people that get way to strict about those things end up with junk food and TV addicts it the whole I want what I can’t have syndrome. Just my little opinion. I used to know this couple and the wife would not let them eat anything even remotely unhealthy, it got so bad that the husband used to sneak the boys out for McDonald’s!!! I loved that you guys skipped the wedding how romantic! And I like your bathroom that is so pretty and a lot of work! I hope that you are feeling well.
Hello Lizzie,
How adorable can these children be!
I left a message for you on my web log. Please stop by when you have a moment.
best
Robin
Thanks for visiting my blog. I love your blog. Your twins are so adorable - and two more coming! Bless you! We have friends with 6 month old twins, we visited them the other day and now that they are becoming somewhat mobile, I have no idea how they do it!

It does _not_ sound awful to be planning a premature delivery! Not. Not. Not. You and your doctor do what is best for the all-round health of Mommy and Babies. I'm relieved too, that this is the plan.
Does that make the date to be around Aug. 11-12? I'm not much good at counting weeks ahead. I was moving the computer calendar thing, up too far and coming to Autumn. And I realized that wasn't right. -giggles-
Duane is taking lots of TLC of you. Please take lots of TLC of yourself too. 'Tis time to rest, rest, rest. But you know that. :-)

Oh the twins are edible (you know what I mean-not in a Hannibal Lector kind of way!!!)
Your bathroom also looks lovely now-what a difference, it was worth the hard work on your behalf!!
And if anyone needed a Kingsize bed it's you....
You must be tickled with your new bath. You did a fantastic job, Lizzie! I love the accent colors and I'm coveting your little bird you bought recently. I passed a similar one up at Marshall's recently. Maybe it will be there next time. Sigh....
I always love seeing the twins~adorable as always. Chris Farley~Down by the river. Oh my gosh~laughing hard at that one.
Hoping all goes well till it's time for the next to be delivered. No more bathroom re-dos for now! And no more guilt about slowing down. It's normal and I'm sure everyone understands.
Warmly,
Lallee
I like to read your posts about the twins. They are adorable. It sounds like you don't have to long to go before the other twins come along. You let that grandma do the laundry, you take care of yourself. I know, it's so difficult to have down time with 2 babies. I think your doing fabulous!
Your bathroom is great. It is a huge welcoming change.
Good to hear you got some alone time with hubby. i don't blame you for ditching the wedding. Alone time was more important.
Keep us posted.

Lizzie, that is so neat that you have always loved Chapman Cottage, too! That is one of my inspiration houses that I look to when I look for direction (i.e. have too many paint swatches on the walls) in my own home. I can tell from your posts (both in taste, and liking to thrift) that you and I would have so much fun decorating together! Have you seen her redecorating projects? I don't think that the link comes up when you first enter her site, but a friend shared her updated pics link:

BTW, I forgot to tell you that the Chris Farley reference had me laughing so hard. My kids do that same "down by the river" thing sometimes. We loved him, and really miss him.
Hope that this note finds you feeling better!~
Love, Andrea
Your babies just get more beautiful and handsome everytime you post a photo! :o)
Try not to feel guilty, Lizzie, about letting some things go, asking for help, and being tired. You have to take care of you and the little twins too! I'm sure time is dragging on so slowly for you, but before you know it, you'll be posting photos of newborns for us to see!
Take care of YOU!
Blessings,
Janice
I always love reading posts about your pregnancy. Your big twins are such cuties. I can't imagine what it must be like to carry 2 and have twins. Of course you're tired. Take care and enjoy them when they're little.
The bath redo is wonderful...and so pretty.
How neat that you and your H had a date!
Hi, Lizzie, love what you've done in the bathroom & those yardsale finds are great!
Glad you had a night out too...even if you had to get grandma to fold the laundry, LOL (good for you!) Take care of yourself with those babies on the way. I don't know HOW you are going to manage when you have 2 more, but I'm sure there will be a way. Will we ever hear from you again??
Hugs,
Rhoda
