Thou who didst hang upon a barren tree,
My God, for me;
Though I till now be barren, now at length
Lord, give me strength
To bring forth fruit to Thee.
from Christina Rossetti "Long Barren"
I think this poem has both spiritual and feminine significance. I won't get into that right now...
I just wanted to remark that on this day honoring Mothers, I take time to remember those who have lost their Mothers, and those who are only mothers in their dreams and hearts, having empty arms where others are full.
Take time to mother oneself, be gentle to yourself, and be at peace.
